BOSTON — The Indians were three outs away from their eighth loss in nine games. In order to pull off late-game heroics against the defending World Series champion Red Sox they would need at least trio of runs to tie, more than they had scored the entire game.

Considering they were 0-24 this season when trailing after eight innings, the odds weren’t exactly in their favor, down 5-2 entering the ninth. Don’t tell that to a group of determined hitters.

Roberto Perez began the ninth with a solo shot to center field off Ryan Brasier. Greg Allen, who entered the game batting .091, followed up with a two-run shot to right to even it up. Looking to pull ahead, Jordan Luplow doubled deep to right field and drove in the deciding two runs for a comeback 7-5 win.

The rally capped off the Major League debut of right-hander Zach Plesac.
