Right-hander Dakota Hudson turned in perhaps his best start, allowing five hits and two walks to go with four strikeouts over six innings. Rookie outfielder Randy Arozarena went 2-for-4 with an RBI in his Major League debut and made a nice play in center field.

Paul DeJong hit his 20th home run as the Cardinals won their fifth straight game and improved to 39-19 at Kauffman Stadium since Interleague play began in 1997. They swept the two-game Interleague series with two shutouts.

Carpenter’s sharp RBI single broke a scoreless tie in a five-run, six-hit seventh, which started with Ozuna’s single to left that ended Keller’s no-no attempt.
