Bettis had a 6.08 ERA in 39 games this season, with 42 strikeouts in 63 2/3 innings. The 30-year-old pitched primarily out of the bullpen for the first time since 2014. Bettis last pitched on Aug. 13.

Bettis’ injury was originally announced as a left hip impingement, but the Rockies clarified the bilateral aspect on Sunday.
